Credits are now Seeds

We recently changed the term credit to seeds on Twiends. We know that this might cause a little confusion so we want to clear up why we did this.
As Twiends has evolved over the last two years we’ve managed to carve out a niche as a good discovery service for twitter, facebook and youtube. We know it’s important to provide a service that is ethical, works well, and that does what it says on the can. We’ve worked hard to make sure we comply with twitter, facebook and youtube’s rules and we want to ensure we are always proactive about doing this.
We want to make sure we use terms on Twiends that reflect the community approach to discovery and promotion that we are providing. We think the word seed better reflects the use of what a credit actually does, and so we have decided to give it a go. Rest assured, everything works exactly the same as before, only the word has changed. As always, we’ll see how the change resonates with our members and may even consider other terms in future as Twiends evolves.

Yeah its a great idea , something fresh and new , would love to see the youtube subscription function soon too
Not sure about sparks but the YouTube Subscription thing sounds great.
Would have preferred you spent the time fixing the website functionality than on a name change ;o)

Did Facebook give you an grief over the use of the term credits? Just curious...
Hi, no, none of the social networks have raised any concerns over the term credits..
But we want to avoid issues in the future, so we've decided to make this change now to a slightly more descriptive term..
i like "sparks" something different! what about grow your social network - buy "seeds" ?
I like the idea of youtube subscribers :)
I think twiboost222's idea was amazing, the slogan and the 'term' go perfectly well.

Hey twitboost222, that's a great suggestion. Tell you what, I will give you some free credits if we go for that. In fact, I'm going to run a quick poll to see if others like it, or whether there are better suggestions too..
I like "threads" because with many threads you can make a web which is what a social network is about it's a web of networking. If you wanted a catchy slogan you could use "Built a networking web, buy a thread."
Seeds is good. Threads would have been good but is already in use in forums so could get confusing. Just got the old grey matter (and Google) on the case and came up with a few. Meetings, Exchanges, Bridges, Branches, Liasons and my favourite Encounters.
Just decided that Twigs is now my favourite. Thought of it earlier but thought branches was better but completely overlooked the "Tw" start to the word which is ideal.
My suggestions FCoins, Locators, FriendRewards, RTLocator :)

Not sure what a "spark" is, but "sprouts" is a better word. Seeds means you have to water and hope they sprout. The Twiends service already gets you passed the seed stage and into the sprout stage. It's up the visitors to make those sprouts blossom into lasting connections.
hmm well you could try " To complete your Social sphere, get some Gear"
Arshan they've already got a phrase "growing your social network" and "get some gear" sounds like drugs lol. Re Sprouts, here in the UK that refers to Brussell Sprouts which is a vegetable. We call sprouting plant bits "shoots" which is what I listed earlier as one of my suggestions.

How about "value" or "VPs" like "value points" or something, that`s what people gain when they make a new connection, moreover assigning value to your own links makes people feel more important and besides... it also sounds good :)

Random thesaurus tags I found:
ties, strings, bonds, paths, tags, surges, sprouts, rays (or sunshine), glows, bursts, flares, streams, beams, blooms, perks, boosts.
Only good ones are bursts, boosts, perks, blooms, ties. (imo)
Support for tumblr (like my tumblr blog) would be a cool addition, I like the youtube integration, would be interesting to see the conversion rate though, 2-4 sparks for a 90 second video may turn some people off, which is sad :(

We've given this some careful consideration and have gone over every term suggested here. Thank you all for taking the time to do this. We've decided that we like twiboost's suggestion of seeds the best. We think it matches perfectly with what we're trying to do on twiends, which is growing your social networks.
Congratulations twiboost, your credits are on the way..!
We'll be rolling out the name change today.
