This is a question we get quite often. When you are listed on twiends people are following you all the time, whether you are logged in or logged out. Sometimes when you follow someone you might do it at the same time that people follow you. The result of this is that your seeds go up for your follow, but go down at the same time for the follows you received. So it appears as if your seeds have decreased during the follow, which they have due to the follows you received.
