We do hear from time to time from users who have had their accounts hacked. There are two different scenarios when this occurs:
1) Your twitter account has been hacked
This is usually the result of users giving their twitter username and password to third-party sites. These sites then log into your account and change your profile, change your password, and generally take your account over. It can also occur if you use a very weak password. If someone has hacked your twitter account then they could link it to twiends, as we will obviously not know it's hacked.
2) Your twiends account has been hacked.
This occurs when someone guesses your twiends password. It can occur if you have chosen a weak password or if you have used the same password on other websites. To be clear, if someone gains access to your twiends account they cannot hack your twitter account from twiends. At no point do we get your twitter password and we connect securely with twitter using OAuth. All they can do is follow others, like you do on twiends. They can't change your twitter profile, your username, your password, or anything like that.
Important things to consider:
1) Don't ever give your twitter password out to others, including twiends. You'll notice that we never ask you for it.
2) Use a different password on twiends than the one you use on twitter.
3) A hacked account is still your responsibility. If we suspend an account due to inappropriate behavior then we cannot approve it afterwards because it you say it was hacked. You'll need to inform us that your account is hacked before we take action against it.
4) If we suspended an account due to inappropriate content, then you'll need to remove all the inappropriate content before we can approve it.
We're here to help you, but we need your help to. We take great measures to keep your twiends password secure, so please place the same care in securing your accounts.

Hi Most of the time Hackers operate sites like this One that ask for your information {EMAIL ADDRESS} so they can Sell steal & defraud Users. Its really not guess work @ all its called phishing and many sites like this look legitimate but really they are FISHY!
The time associated with Internet fraud gran larceny and Identity theft really is not worth the effort in the end.

Hi Dave,
I'm new to all of this having found Twiends through the fiverr.com website. Unfortunately, I purchased a service there from someone offering to add twitter followers to my account. I gave them my twitter id and a temporary password.
Now that I have found Twiends, I tried to enter my Twitter id only to find that it had already been used by someone else!! I guess now I know where the fiverr provider was getting his services from.
My twitter account is linked to my website. I can prove ownership of my Twitter account, the website - and even have proof of purchase from the provider on Fiverr. Is it possible to sort this out so I can link this Twitter account to my Twiends account please?
I have emailed the fiverr provider and expressed my displeasure, but he hasn't responded.
Grateful for your advise/assistance.
Many thanks!
Blair
